The Blog

Crew Jensen

allie jensen

On July 7th our sweet baby boy made his appearance into the world. While I've tossed around the idea of sharing his full birth story on here, I have ultimately decided not to. A few things that were pretty memorable though:

1. My water broke AT the chiropractor's office immediately following my adjustment.I rushed into the bathroom where Trevor helped me clean up, but the water kept coming so  I had to borrow a towel and wrap it around my waist. All of the staff was wishing me good luck and waving as I darted out of the office! It was like something off of a movie. I never imagined my water breaking in public.

2. When I moved into the transition phase of labor, I looked up at the clock and the hand just started spinning around and around..HA! I had no concept of time, it just seemed like labor would never end so to watch the clock spin was pretty comical.

3. We got everything in our "birth plan" which I hear rarely happens. One of the best parts was having my doctor deliver the baby and sit in the L&D room with me for a full hour (maybe 2?) and cheered me  on before actually delivering the baby. When does that ever happen to anyone?

A Co-Ed Southern Baby-

allie jensen

It's been a while, but we are pregnant! Baby boy will be here in a little over 6 weeks and we can't wait. My two best friends, mom, and sister threw me a "Southern BaB-Q" and it was perfect! Chinoiserie, gingham, pulled pork, banana pudding, and all the fixins. We did a co-ed shower, something I wish we would have done for the wedding. So many of our friends and family came we hardly had enough seating! It was beautiful and I am so happy all of our guests wanted to come celebrate baby Crew's life with us.

Baby Shower

allie jensen

My best friend Ashley is having her first baby. A sweet little girl named Reagan, due on Halloween. I threw her a baby shower on my parents' property. My mom went above and beyond--from renting tables and chairs to landscaping the yard. It turned out to be a beautiful event with so much help from Ashley's family and my mom. I can't wait to meet baby Reagan!

I really wanted an outdoor rug. My mom had the idea to use a painter's canvas. We taped it off and painted it with pink paint.

We played a game called "tinkle in the jar". Ash got the golf ball in the jar on the first try! I guess she has the most practice. This game was a first, but not a last for me. Hilarious.

Cubbie had to make an appearance too.

At every part I host, I always start out the games by letting the guests go in a circle and telling how they know the mother-to-be/bride/etc depending on the occasion.
